Tech Editing

I will collaborate with you in producing the best possible pattern/article/instruction handout possible. I can help with clarity, consistency, and accuracy while working to keep your personal voice and style. All documents will be examined for grammar, punctuation, and spelling. I will ensure that all abbreviations are consistent and accurate, and pattern instructions can be easily followed. All stitch counts and measurements will be thoroughly checked. If you use charts and schematics, they will be examined for accuracy. If you wish only a partial edit (just numbers checked or just written vs. chart instructions compared, for example), just ask.

To get started, go to Get in touch! and send me a PDF formatted document or your Word/Google Docs/Pages file with a full description of desired services. I will send you a written estimate and place you on my calendar as soon as you approve. If, for any reason, my estimate is inaccurate, I will contact you right away with any possible increases. If I have over estimated, your costs will automatically be reduced.

Schematics

I use a vector graphics app to create accurate schematics based on your specifications and measurements. Please note that all patterns should be tech edited prior to building the schematic to ensure number accuracy.

To get started, go to Get in touch! and send a size chart that includes all measurements you wish to have on the schematic and one or two clear photos of the item for reference. This information can be a table created in your Word Processor or an Excel/Numbers Spreadsheet.

Grading:

I am now taking a limited number of clients for pattern grading. My goal is to assist you in providing size inclusive designs that fit. Please go to Get In Touch! and send me a note with your request and I will email you a grading questionnaire. Please specify: Word, Pages, or Google Docs as your preference for Word Processor.

Costs

Starting January 2024 I am working at a rate of $35 per hour. This is subject to change.
